Just Breathe Yoga Studio opened its doors outside of Camp Lejeune in the Topsail Beach/Sneads Ferry area in August 2018. The studio offers yoga classes, individualized instruction, and specialized workshops and welcomes anyone willing to show up on their mat to sweat, grow, relax, or breathe.
Our instructors seek to create a safe space for each member of the community to calm their thoughts through meditation and movement and create connections between the mind, body, and soul. We also offer a variety of classes to meet yogis of every level with dedication, compassion, and understanding.
Come strengthen your body and calm your mind.
Keep peace in the mind, strength in the body, and love in the heart.
Brandy first stepped onto her yoga mat to maintain a tangible physical fitness regimen but quickly noticed the positive effects it had on her anxiety and job related stress. Her passion for yoga grew. She enrolled in a 200 Hour Kunga Teacher Training program in 2017 and opened Just Breathe Yoga Studio in August 2018. Now Brandy is currently furthering her education with a 300 Hour Kunga Leadership Teacher Training program. She is grateful that she has the opportunity to learn from past and present yogis, and she hopes to share the tools, teachings, and knowledge that have been gifted to her with her community.
Alli is a 200 Hour Registered Kunga Instructor with a background in crisis intervention, mental health, and addiction counseling. Having previously dedicated herself to swimming, running, lifting, Crossfit, and kickboxing, Alli values yoga for its practice of applying ahisma, or non-violence, to one's self-talk. She believes in nurturing the higher teacher within, has found the practice of yoga to be incredibly beneficial to her own mental and physical health, and enjoys sharing these benefits with others both on and off the mat.
Amanda is a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher and is currently pursuing an advanced 500 Hour Certification. She has been practicing yoga since 2010, imbues a laid back vibe to her practice, and believes deeply in the transformative power of yoga. Her vinyasa classes blend Ashtanga, Jivamukti, and power yoga and build strength and balance from within. Amanda is passionate about bringing yoga and ocean therapy to the veteran community and donates all her proceeds to Beneath the Surface Foundation.
Janet began her yoga journey in 2009 by completing her first 200 Hour certification in Goshen, NY. She fell in love with music enhanced Vinyasa practice. She moved to NC in 2012; opened her own studio, Be Yourself Yoga, in Mt. Airy; and completed her Restorative Yoga Certification and second 200 Hour training. Janet moved to Surf City full time in 2016 and teaches yoga classes on the beach as well as Vinyasa style classes in the greater area. She loves teaching beginners and watching them find their own love for the amazing practice of yoga. She believes yoga can transform your life if you allow it.
Lexi is a yoga instructor trained in Bali. She has been practicing since she was 12, has a childhood background in dance and gymnastics, and was a triathlete at the Naval Academy. She is currently a Marine and teaches yoga at Just Breathe to help yogis find mental, emotional, and physical strength through balance. She believes every yogi knows their body best and encourages people to breathe, find balance, and seek courage and light so they can help others do the same.
Perry practiced yoga on and off for 20 years before receiving her 200 Hour Certification. She likes to incorporate a little bit of everything in her classes to create a sense of balance that can be carried off the mat. She believes that flexibility and perfection are not required and encourages all yogis to practice good breathing, strengthen their cores, work on flexibility and balance, and take a few minutes to slow down and relax.
